This movie was shot entirely on location at the historic Preston Castle and the Jackson Rancheria. In addition to the Hollywood stars, there were tons of local cast and crew on the production! All the child actors were local to the Sacramento area. The budget for this film was designated as Ultra Low Budget, so don't expect lots of high tech effects. For a lot of the cast and crew, this was one of their first motion picture experiences. For those who like horror movies without overt gore, this is a fun movie to watch.

The storyline was great, taking a true story and adding a 2019 twist to it. The casting was well done, Kevin Pollak played this role perfectly. Mena emotion she put into the role gave me goosebumps! I enjoyed this movie so much I watched it twice on the first day. The movie Apparition is about a group of people conducting the experiment known as The Charles Experiment. It is a kind of experiment that is para-pyschological in nature. The group is instructed to look and concentrate on a drawing of a deceased man in the hopes of summoning his spirit.
